Role Purpose: The Educational Psychologist utilizes psychological and educational principles to assess, classify, treat, and educate children facing academic, social, and emotional challenges. This role also involves providing leadership and professional development to enhance collaborative educational programs while ensuring adherence to established policies and regulations.

Classification: EdLogical

Employment Status: Non-Exempt

Compensation: $50-$62/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with parents, educators, administrators, and relevant agencies to design educational and therapeutic programs.
  • Advise on suitable educational and psychological interventions based on psychological assessments.
  • Analyze and interpret assessment results concerning students' intellectual, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development, and their implications for instructional strategies.
  • Draft comprehensive assessment reports for each student evaluated.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams and reviews.
  • Conduct necessary re-evaluations for Special Education students.
  • Contribute to the development of school services that foster positive mental health and conducive learning environments.
  • Initiate referrals to Mental Health Services as required.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of specific educational programs.
  • Serve as a resource in areas such as guidance, curriculum, child development, and assessment tools.
  • Collaborate in planning the master schedule for the special education program.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Counseling or a related field (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, School Counseling) with 2-5 years of experience working with students with learning or social/emotional needs.
  • Active and registered license as an LMFT, AMFT, LPCC, APCC, LCSW, ASW with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, or a PPS credential if serving as a School Counselor or School Psychologist.
  • Experience in a school or treatment setting for students with learning or social/emotional challenges.
  • Clearance through DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB.
  • Pro-Act, CPI, and/or CPR certification is advantageous.

Work Environment:

  • Occasional exposure to dust, pollen, and fumes.
  • Frequent physical activities including reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to see and hear within normal ranges, with or without correction.
  • Moderate to high noise intensity levels.
