Position Overview:

This role is essential in delivering direct services to the community, focusing on the registration and compliance of watercraft. The incumbent will be tasked with ensuring that all watercraft meet Federal standards, verifying ownership documentation, and maintaining accurate records in the database. Responsibilities also include issuing ownership certificates, collecting fees, and processing transactions through the Point of Sale system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issue licenses, special use stamps, and non-permit tags while providing publications to the public.
  • Address public inquiries via various channels, including mail, in-person, online, and phone, regarding State and Federal regulations, as well as Department policies.
  • Process public records requests and confirm the licensing of private investigators and financial institutions before releasing confidential information related to watercraft registration.
  • Assist the Department in outreach initiatives and ensure the availability of necessary supplies for job functions, including training new staff as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Game and Fish Commission regulations, applicable Arizona Revised Statutes, and U.S. Coast Guard Federal requirements for watercraft registration. Skills in cash handling, active listening, problem-solving, organization, multitasking, and effective communication are essential. The candidate should demonstrate professionalism and patience in customer interactions, effectively managing challenging situations.

Pre-Employment Criteria:

For positions requiring vehicle operation, candidates must hold a valid driver's license and complete all necessary training and record checks. Additionally, all new hires must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
