Embedded Software Developer

Approach Venture is seeking a talented Embedded Software Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge video technology for aerospace applications. As a key member of our team, you will focus on designing and integrating software for advanced camera and edge processing technologies, driving innovation in video edge processing and storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of various systems.
- Develop and maintain firmware for embedded video processors used in security and surveillance applications, including autonomous and airborne systems.
- Design, test, and implement software for camera, embedded processor, and custom IC integration, with a focus on video systems.
- Develop and maintain Linux C/C++ software for motor and camera control systems.
- Interface with complex systems using MIPI channels for high-speed data transfers and employ diagnostic tools to troubleshoot hardware issues.
- Provide direct support to customers to ensure successful product application.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of computer vision interface standards, including MIPI, Camera Link, HDMI, SDI, Parallel Video, LVDS, UVC, and USB3Vision.
- Knowledge of camera systems, including lenses, image sensors, motors, real-time processing, drivers, and camera tuning considerations.
- Familiarity with Linux build systems, including creating and installing drivers, along with debugging device drivers.
- Proficiency with Linux filesystems, GPIO, I2C, SPI, and UART.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with electronic tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
- Familiarity with software unit testing and version control systems.
- Embedded Linux software development experience in C/C++.
- Expertise in software optimization for ARM, GPU, or DSP processors.
- Experience with implementing embedded hardware drivers is advantageous.
