We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist to become a vital part of our team. In this role, you will conduct a range of dimensional and visual assessments, ensuring the quality of both manufactured and procured components.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute documented evaluations utilizing various measurement and testing instruments to ascertain the acceptance or rejection of materials or components.
2. Conduct First Article, Receiving, In-Process, and Final inspections; determine acceptance or rejection after thorough examination and/or testing of materials, components, and equipment.
3. Interpret and adhere to guidelines outlined in drawings, specifications, charts, procedures, and other relevant data to make informed decisions regarding material acceptance.
4. Assist in the evaluation and management of non-conforming materials and customer returns, including rework, disposal, and supplier returns.
5. Maintain precise and up-to-date inspection and testing documentation, including Inspection/Test Results and Reports, Traceability Logs, and Rejection Reports/Tags, as dictated by applicable procedures and specifications.
6. Collaborate with other departments to communicate inspection and testing statuses in support of production and shipping objectives.
7. Perform calibration on inspection and testing equipment utilized for product acceptance, including variable and attribute gaging, measuring tools, pressure gauges, and shop floor test stands.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in metrology inspection.
- Familiarity with Quality standards (ISO, Gage Calibration, Metrology, GD&T).
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as Surface Plates, Height Gauges, Comparators, and Hand Tools.
- Ability to conduct detailed reviews of documentation and certifications against requirements.
- Competence in applying visual inspection techniques.
- Knowledge of gage calibration methods and techniques.
- Basic and intermediate mathematical skills applicable to shop environments.
- Capability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Understanding of GD&T principles and their application.
- Experience in setting up and utilizing a CMM for dimensional inspection is preferred.
