Position Overview

1 Resource Group is actively looking for skilled Heavy Equipment Service Technicians to join our team. In this role, you will be tasked with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of heavy machinery. Candidates with vocational training and formal education in hydraulics and diesel engine maintenance will find this position particularly suitable.

This opportunity offers a direct hire arrangement with a comprehensive benefits package, which includes a company vehicle, meal allowance, medical, dental, vision coverage, 401k plan, and paid time off.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and rectify issues in heavy machinery, covering engines, transmissions, drivetrains, hydraulic systems, electrical components, and fuel systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and prevent costly repairs.
  • Read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints, wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, parts catalogs, lubrication charts, and repair manuals.
  • Supply necessary tools and parts, and coordinate facilities for repair tasks, typically at customer locations.
  • Examine, operate, and test machinery to confirm optimal performance.
  • Communicate essential information to the Service Supervisor for accurate billing and account management.
  • Enhance technical expertise through ongoing training and review of technical literature.
  • Uphold the company’s professional image by maintaining a tidy appearance and a clean service vehicle.
  • Provide training and oversight to new technicians as needed.
Educational Qualifications
  • Completion of vocational training or formal education in hydraulics and diesel engine repair.
  • A minimum of three years of practical experience in diesel mechanics and hydraulics; relevant education may substitute for some experience.
  • Basic computer proficiency is necessary.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and other technical documentation.
  • Successful completion of the tacker test is mandatory, while passing the AWSD14 Welding Test is recommended for future advancement.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift weights up to 50 pounds.
Essential Requirements
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight at various locations as required.
  • Must meet insurance requirements to operate the company vehicle (MVR and background check).
