Compelling Opportunity for a Tax Manager

We are seeking an accomplished Tax Manager to join our Family Wealth Services group in Richmond, Virginia. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional tax advice and services to high-net worth individuals and fiduciaries.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience. You can expect a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, 15 days of PTO, 12 paid holidays, a 401(k) plan with 3% annual contribution, and company-paid life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance.

About the Role
  • Lead client relationships, focusing on high-value quality tax advice and expanding services.
  • Interact directly with clients, handling questions, planning, consulting, etc.
  • Build strong relationships to ensure excellent client service through an integrated service approach.
  • Manage client needs regarding tax services and federal/state tax compliance.
  • Train and develop staff members.
  • Stay current on tax practices and changes in tax law.
Requirements
  • CPA or EA certification required.
  • Tax technical expertise in high-net worth individual and fiduciary gift and estate tax.
  • 5+ years of experience in high-net worth individual and fiduciary income tax, gift, and estate tax compliance and planning.
  • Prior supervisory experience necessary.
  • Ability to work with principals and staff from both Alexandria and Richmond offices.
  • Capacity to supervise, schedule, and train a team of multiple lower-level tax professionals.
  • Executive-level demeanor, serving as the firm's main contact with client management and staff.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships, including prompt handling of inquiries and requests.
  • Strong decision-making skills based on thorough research and critical analysis.
