Job Title: Senior Design Engineer, Last Mile Engineering

Last Mile Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and innovative engineering project leader to lead the development and delivery of next-generation, world-class Last Mile transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the delivery station network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks while influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors.
  • Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects.
  • Communicate effectively with senior executives to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Operations.
  • 7+ years of experience with automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
  • 7+ years of experience with process design based on Lean Principles.
  • 7+ years of experience in Capital project management.
  • 7+ years of experience with concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and decision making.
  • 7+ years of experience with ownership/management of engineering design projects.
  • 7+ years of experience using business/technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, and Mathematics (or equivalent related experience).
  • Experience in Operations, Logistics, or Production business.
  • Experience in innovation/Research & Development.

The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
