Community Engagement Specialist

FACETS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Engagement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Opportunity Neighborhood initiative, you will play a critical role in building and sustaining relationships with residents, community leaders, and stakeholders to drive positive change and improve the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors.
Key Responsibilities- Community Engagement: Develop and implement effective community engagement strategies to build trust and foster relationships with residents, community leaders, and stakeholders.
- Neighborhood Development: Collaborate with community members, organizations, and stakeholders to identify and address community needs, develop and implement solutions, and evaluate progress.
- Outreach and Education: Design and deliver outreach and education programs to engage residents, promote community resources, and build awareness about FACETS' services and initiatives.
- Leadership Development: Recruit, train, and support community leaders (Neighborhood Ambassadors) to empower them to take ownership of community initiatives and drive positive change.
- Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between FACETS and community stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and coordination of efforts.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data to inform community engagement strategies, evaluate program effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement.
- Partnership Development: Foster and maintain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to leverage resources, expertise, and support for community initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, community development, or a related field, or equivalent experience in community development or organizing.
- Experience: Proven track record of community engagement, outreach, and leadership development, with a strong understanding of community needs and challenges.
- Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
- Personal Qualities: Strong passion for community development, social justice, and equity, with a commitment to empowering marginalized communities and promoting positive change.
- Competitive Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
