Automation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Automation Engineer to join our team in Annandale, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process control systems, application development environments, and relational databases.

• Automate new research laboratory bench scale and pilot plant units
• Define requirements for design, development, and implementation of novel research laboratory data acquisition and data analysis systems and applications
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance existing research laboratory data acquisition and data analysis systems and applications
• Collaborate with researchers, research support services personnel, and IT providers to deliver complete research automation solutions
• Engage in the identification, development, and implementation of research laboratory work process improvements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical), or equivalent work experience
• 3-5 years of LabVIEW experience working with Actor Framework
• Strong functional analysis skills
• Proficiency with process control systems, application development environments, and tools, and relational databases
• Ability to assess, select, and apply current and emerging information technology to process automation
• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams, and motivation to provide responsive customer service
• Ability to organize information and to manage tasks and projects to support business needs
• Ability to multitask and remain flexible in a work environment with changing priorities
• Demonstrated knowledge of in-process / industrial controls and instrumentation
• Ability to quickly learn and apply knowledge of technical concepts that may be outside of one's primary area of expertise
