We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager to join our team at Chenega MIOS SBU. As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for providing construction engineering and project management labor support to various locations within the NAVFAC Washington Area of Responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:- Review pre-final contract drawings and specifications to ensure constructability and compatibility with actual field conditions.
- Develop and execute projects using Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods.
- Coordinate mandatory post-award contract meetings, including kickoff meetings, preconstruction conferences, and design review meetings.
- Assist in managing contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) and ensuring timely responses.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between project stakeholders.
- Monitor project budget and time constraints, and initiate corrective action as necessary.
- Routinely visit construction sites to monitor progress and solicit input from Engineering Technician/Quality Assurance (ET/QA) representatives.
- Take necessary action to ensure the contractor's quality control program is provided in accordance with contract requirements.
- Provide project status updates to senior personnel.
- Assist in the management of Post Construction Award Services (PCAS).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 15+ years' experience as a Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, or a Project Manager.
- Thorough knowledge of construction practices and methods, as well as construction management.
- Secret clearance required.
- Ability to review technical engineering specifications and statements of work.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, project delivery methods, and regulations governing Federal contract administration.
- Able to communicate effectively to all leadership levels.
- Knowledge and experience with applicable Codes and Industry Standards.
- Knowledge of EM, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Safety and Health Requirements Manual.
- Ability to prepare cost estimates and assist in negotiations of change orders.
