Life Science Audit Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit Senior Manager to join our Life Sciences practice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading audit engagements, overseeing day-to-day operations, and providing supervision and training to engagement staff.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the engagement team in planning and executing audit engagements to provide world-class client service
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of audit engagements, including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusion
- Provide supervision, training, and support to engagement staff and promote open communication with the engagement manager and partner
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
- Create and track engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies and maintain profitable realization rates
- Review and evaluate work papers to determine compliance with professional standards and firm policy
- Review reports and financial statements
- Review significant findings with the engagement partner that raise questions involving auditing standards and firm policy
- Manage risk and ensure quality control procedures are being executed
- Effectively manage employee and client expectations
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with client management
- Provide on-the-job training to team members
- Develop staff by taking an active role in the Firm's learning and development activities
- Complete performance evaluations constructively and timely, and provide ongoing performance feedback to employees
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and PCAOB/SEC rules and regulations
- Familiarity with transactions common in the life science space, including complex debt and equity transactions such as warrant accounting, and stock-based compensation arrangements
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Licensed CPA
- Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including experience with SEC Assurance
- Ability to articulately communicate professional/technical knowledge
- Thorough understanding of complex technical issues
- Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy
- Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to engagement partners or client management
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, and strong attention to detail
