We are seeking a highly motivated Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Axiom Consultants, a Ruekert & Mielke Company.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented structural engineer to work with a dynamic group of building design consultants and develop their skills under the guidance of our experienced Structural Lead. Our team provides comprehensive planning, engineering, and construction services, alongside project management, owners representation, and inspection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting existing building walkdowns and property condition assessments to ensure accurate data for our clients.
  • Performing construction site visits and assisting with historic rehabilitation projects to identify potential issues.
  • Reviewing structural codes and specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Providing contractor RFI/ITC assistance to resolve any concerns or discrepancies.
  • Assisting with geotechnical sub coordination and integration to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Designing structural elements, including foundation, dimensional lumber, engineered lumber, structural steel, masonry, and light gauge steel, using Autodesk Revit.
  • Preparing construction documents, reviewing structural shop drawings, and performing structural systems modeling (RISA).
  • Assisting with specification writing and supplier coordination to ensure timely project completion.
  • Preparing field reports and draft memorandums to keep stakeholders informed.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with Structures Emphasis.
  • Prior experience with engineering design, Revit drafting, structural calculation software, and field investigations is a significant plus.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, RISA 3D, RISA Floor, RISA Foundation, EnerCalc, and other structural analysis software is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a field and office environment.
  • Commitment to obtaining PE licensure with mentorship support from our team.
