Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the Operating Rooms of the Ohio State University Surgery Center, working collaboratively with a team of care providers to deliver exceptional patient care. As a key member of the surgical team, the ST is responsible for performing technical skills related to intra-operative patient care, including the scrub role in various surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient safety, infection control, and teamwork, with a focus on delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical skills related to intra-operative patient care, including the scrub role in various surgical procedures.
  • Provide emergency care measures as appropriate, and assist in meeting the patient's emotional needs.
  • Follow universal precautions, safe handling guidelines, and all other infection control standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized perioperative unit, promoting a positive attitude and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Contribute to organizational effectiveness and demonstrate career growth and development.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, the Surgical Technologist must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with satisfactory completion of a recognized training program for operating room technicians or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in the Surgical Center Operating Room as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.
