Diesel Technician/Mechanic II

About the Role:
As a senior fleet maintenance specialist at Penske Truck Leasing, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our extensive vehicle fleet. With 3 years of practical experience in vehicle maintenance, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs of all levels on various types of equipment.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred. You will also need specialized training and experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and servicing vehicles to ensure they are safe for customers
- Performing preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision
- Repairing and troubleshooting engine, transmission, and differential components, turbochargers, fuel system components, etc.
- Keeping work areas clean and organized
- Utilizing Penske's tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics
- Participating in Penske's technician training program to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:
- 3 years of practical experience in vehicle maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Specialized training and experience in diagnosing/troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials)
- Valid driver's license required
- Able to solve problems, provide excellent customer service, and work well as part of a team
- Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
- Basic computer skills required
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive estimated salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, along with shift premiums and excellent benefits, including lots of time off. As a senior fleet maintenance specialist, you will have the opportunity to work on various types of equipment, learn from experienced technicians, and advance your skills through Penske's technician training program.
