Job Summary: As a seasoned Diesel Mechanic/Technician at Penske, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on our cutting-edge fleet of vehicles.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of our vehicles
  • Carry out preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision and in a timely manner
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Utilize Penske's advanced tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs
  • Continuously develop new skills through Penske's comprehensive technician training program
  • Perform additional projects and tasks as assigned by your supervisor

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
  • Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components, OEM training courses, ASE Certification, and 608/609 certifications (preferred)
  • Proficiency in using all tools of the trade, including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools
  • A valid driver's license; CDL preferred
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and strong communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Basic computer skills
