About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team at the Duke North Carolina Orthopaedic Clinic in Durham, NC. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect care to patients, performing a variety of duties in both clinical and administrative areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care, including rooming patients, collecting histories, and documenting first-pass HPI.
  • Assist physicians with patient care and handle clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
  • Perform duties such as prepping clinics, obtaining test results, updating charts, verifying insurance, and coordinating referrals and appointments.
  • Fulfill EOC responsibilities, including cleaning exam rooms, ordering and stocking supplies, and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Develop the ability to remove casts, apply basic splints, and cast the upper and lower extremity, as assigned by clinic leadership.
  • Evaluate patients during their first post-operative visit, with a physician or APP present to provide support.
Requirements
  • A four-year college degree meeting the requirements of an athletic trainer.
  • National BOC certification.
  • Licensed by the NC Board of Athletic Trainer Examiners.
  • Current CPR certification.
Work Environment

This role is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Some roles within our organization may encompass essential job functions requiring distinct physical and/or mental capabilities.
