Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Duke Health Integrated Practice. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by utilizing advanced ultrasound imaging technologies to aid in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and urgent echocardiograms, including 2-dimensional, 3-dimensional, Doppler, and Stress Echocardiogram, as requested by physicians and in accordance with standard practices.
  • Evaluate pathology following current guidelines (American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), American College of Cardiology (ACC), etc.) and assist in the reaccreditation process and quality improvement program for the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission Echocardiography (IAC-Echo).
  • Analyze patient medical records to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures.
  • Communicate technical and patient care-related information according to established processes and timelines.
  • Operate equipment necessary to perform all required procedures and to obtain optimal diagnostic recording.
Requirements
  • Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification.
  • ARDMS/CCI certification in Echocardiography and BLS certification.
  • Level I - Must obtain ARDMS certifications as required by each entity within 18 months of employment.
  • Level II - Minimum of two years' experience as a Sonographer.
  • Level III - A minimum of 4 years' experience within specialty modality in which they are seeking promotion.
