Fire Safety Inspector

POSITION OVERVIEW
Sciens Building Solutions is on the lookout for a dedicated Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our team, focusing on inspection and maintenance services. This role will collaborate closely with our sales personnel, field project teams, and clients to ensure that all systems are inspected and maintained in accordance with relevant codes. This is a pivotal role within our expanding organization, requiring meticulous attention to detail throughout all project phases. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for effective communication with both customers and team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review system layouts and coordinate with the systems and service departments to ensure successful project execution.
- Conduct field surveys and maintain daily project activity logs.
- Inspect and maintain fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance.
- Generate comprehensive inspection and deficiency reports following NFPA standards.
- Ensure timely project delivery while adhering to budget constraints.
- Log and transmit inspection reports using laptop technology.
- Oversee project inventory and manage vehicle inventory.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Provide support and expertise to fellow inspectors.
- Exhibit a customer-centric approach, with strong project and personnel management skills.
- Efficiently manage job scheduling and progress, maintaining a strong focus on quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Proficiently resolve issues as they arise.
- Exhibit excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication abilities.
QUALIFICATIONS WE VALUE
- Two to five years of experience in an inspection technician role within the fire sprinkler sector.
- Solid understanding of wet, dry, and pre-action systems, along with backflows and fire pumps.
- Experience with underground piping installation is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with NFPA 13, 20, 24 & 72 code requirements.
- NICET level II certification.
- Ability to interpret fire system design drawings.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
- Certification in backflow inspection and repair is preferred.
