Key Responsibilities:
This position encompasses a variety of essential functions critical to maintaining the operational integrity of our facilities. The responsibilities outlined below are vital to the role and are not exhaustive of all tasks that may be assigned.
- Conduct comprehensive building upkeep, including carpentry, drywall repair, minor electrical work, painting, flooring, and plumbing tasks.
- Execute preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration systems, including filter changes and cleaning of coils and drainage systems.
- Support repair efforts for HVAC and refrigeration units as needed.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair audiovisual equipment, including televisions and sound systems.
- Manage the installation and maintenance of various cabling systems (e.g., CAT5, CAT6, Coaxial).
- Possess the capability to operate a range of vehicles, from cars to larger panel trucks.
- Demonstrate the ability to work in confined, hot, and challenging environments.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED is required, along with technical training in electronics or equivalent experience.
Language Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operational instructions, and maintenance manuals. Competence in writing routine reports and correspondence is essential.
Mathematical Proficiency: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in various formats and to resolve issues involving multiple concrete variables in standardized scenarios.
Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of a Louisiana Racing Commission License and a valid Louisiana Driver's License is required.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position require regular use of hands and fingers for grasping tools and controls, as well as the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
Work Environment:
This role involves exposure to loud noises and smoke, and the employee will be required to work in small, hot, and dirty environments.
