Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Host/Hostess to join our team at Montage International. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing a warm and welcoming experience that sets the tone for their visit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Anticipate and respond to guests' needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to solving any guest-related issues or concerns.
  • Bid farewell to guests, using their name when known, and encourage them to return to the establishment.
  • Assist in providing analytical support and decision-making tools to leadership teams to help exceed desired business results.
  • Work effectively with management, chefs, and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and other associates.
  • Greet and seat guests, controlling the flow of guests coming into the restaurant, bar, and lounge while under pressure.
  • Answer telephones and direct calls where necessary.
  • Oversee daily restaurant reservations, pre-assign seating where necessary, and communicate with management, service staff, and chefs regarding special guest needs, requests, and VIPs.
Requirements
  • Previous hotel or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task required.
  • Ability to read and write in English proficiently.
  • Ability to follow directions well, make quick decisions, and keep organized while under pressure.
  • Previous exposure to high-volume restaurant environments preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with computer-based reservations systems preferred.
  • Ability to operate a multi-line telephone.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivation, politeness, energy, and a willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well as delicate china and glassware. Up to 50 lbs. Also, must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time. This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.

The pay scale for Host/Hostess is $24.39.
