Job Summary

The Host/Hostess role at Montage International is a dynamic position that requires a warm and welcoming individual to provide exceptional guest experiences. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for greeting and assisting guests in a positive and professional manner, anticipating their needs, and responding with a sense of urgency. Your proactive approach to solving guest questions or problems will ensure a seamless experience for all who visit our establishment.

Key Responsibilities

Consistently follow Food & Beverage sequence of service, utilizing all proper procedures standardized by venue managers and chefs
Assist in providing analytical support and decision-making tools to leadership team to help exceed desired business results
Work as a team and effectively communicate with management, chef, and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and/or other Associates
Greet and seat guests, controlling the flow of guests coming into the restaurant, bar, and lounge while under pressure
Answer telephones and direct calls where necessary
Oversee daily restaurant reservations, pre-assign seating where necessary, and communicate with management, service staff, and chefs regarding special guest needs, requests, and VIPS

Requirements

Previous hotel or restaurant experience preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task required
Ability to read and write in English proficiently
Ability to follow directions well, make quick decisions, and keep organized while under pressure
Previous exposure to high-volume restaurant environment preferred
Basic computer skills and experience with computer-based reservations systems preferred
Ability to operate a multi-line telephone
Positive attitude, self-motivated, polite, energetic, and a willing learner

Physical Requirements

Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks
Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well as delicate china and glassware (up to 50 lbs)
Must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time
This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing

Compensation

The pay scale for Host/Hostess is $24.39. Montage International is an EEO employer and maintains a drug-free workplace, performing pre-employment substance abuse testing.
