Education Specialist

Sylvan Learning - Southwest Texas is seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Specialist to join our team. As an Education Specialist, you will play a vital role in creating engaging learning experiences for students and evaluating their progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare for each instructional session, gathering and preparing materials as needed
- Engage students through personalized instruction and create a positive learning environment
- Deliver Sylvan programs in a way that meets the needs of each student
- Manage time and tasks to create a balanced and effective instructional session
- Evaluate and record student progress on their program assignments
- Use praise and encouragement to motivate students and inspire a love of learning
- Manage student tokens and rewards, ensuring students are motivated to achieve their goals
- Record and track student progress, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
- Manage the conclusion of each instructional session, ensuring a smooth transition and supporting student safety and well-being
- Communicate student needs to the contract program director
- Attend staff meetings and complete ongoing training as needed
- Complete certification training on each Sylvan program taught to students
Requirements:
- Four-year degree or equivalent required
- State or provincial teaching credentials (current or expired)
- Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension preferred for reading teachers
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of general office equipment, such as copiers and office phones
- Knowledge of tablet computers preferred
- Proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
- Strong team player
