Position: SIC Pipefitter
Overview: We are seeking skilled Pipefitters to join our team for an upcoming project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine the type and size of piping and associated materials based on project specifications.
- Evaluate work sites to identify potential obstructions.
- Plan the installation sequence to circumvent obstacles and coordinate with other trades.
- Utilize tools such as hacksaws, pipe cutters, and cutting torches to cut pipes.
- Thread pipes using appropriate machinery.
- Bend pipes manually or with specialized equipment.
- Assemble and install various types of metal and non-metal piping and fittings.
- Connect piping through various methods including threaded, soldered, and cemented joints.
- Secure pipes to structures using clamps and hangers.
- Conduct leak tests on piping systems by applying pressure and monitoring gauges.
- May involve welding fixtures to structural components.
- Work within precise accuracy standards.
- Make informed decisions based on measurable criteria.
- Visualize and interpret plans and drawings in three dimensions.
- Lift and transport materials of varying weights.
- Identify and respond to hazardous conditions.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Completion of all required safety and job training.
- Adherence to safety and quality protocols at all times.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to utilize personal protective equipment and lift up to fifty pounds.
- Work environment may include offices, warehouses, and outdoor settings with exposure to various elements.
- Must be able to access all areas of the job site, including elevated positions and confined spaces.
- Physical stamina is necessary to perform essential job functions.
- Capable of operating all necessary tools and equipment safely.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in various physical positions.
