Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for working in an elementary Multi-Handicapped Unit (Self-Contained) and will be required to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement IEPs for students with multiple disabilities.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in a self-contained setting.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with multiple disabilities.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure the best educational outcomes for students.
  • Monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to IEPs.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth.
  • Utilize specialized techniques and materials to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Requirements:
  • Must hold a valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License.
Additional Details:
  • Full-time position.
  • Maternity leave/long-term sub for the school year.
  • Definite contract until October 2024, with potential extension to the full school year.
  • Working in a self-contained Multi-Handicapped Unit for elementary students.
