Childcare Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Childcare Teacher Assistant to join our team at the Butler County Family YMCA. As a key member of our Early Learning Center Program, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and develop.

• Assist in the education, supervision, and care of children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and implement engaging curriculum activities that promote learning and development.
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress and daily activities.
• Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Conduct regular child observations and evaluations to inform teaching practices and support child development.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of child progress, attendance, and program activities.
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and center-wide activities to stay informed about program developments and best practices.
• Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to child safety, confidentiality, and emergency procedures.

• Minimum age of 18.
• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience working with children.
• Ability to implement age/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• CPR/Pediatric First Aid/AED Certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain positive relationships with parents and colleagues.

The physical demands of this role include the ability to perform all aspects of the position, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. A flexible work schedule is required, with the ability to plan, lead, and participate in activities during daytime hours.
