Job Summary

Highmark Health is seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our Emergency Services team in Sharpsburg. As a Paramedic, you will provide emergency medical care to patients in the prehospital environment, effectively communicating with all individuals involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive emergency or response vehicles to provide medical care to patients.
  • Determine the nature and extent of illnesses or injuries, providing basic and advanced life support to critically ill and injured patients during treatment and transport.
  • Complete required documentation according to regulatory standards.
  • Maintain equipment and inventory of supplies, including BLS and ALS, and have accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PA certification as Paramedic or licensed PHRN.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • EMSVO within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS within 30 days of hire.
  • ITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hire.
  • PALS within 30 days of hire.
  • CPR – American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician, ICS 100, 200, and IS 700, 800, ABLS, and ASLS.
  • One year experience (AHN EMS).
