Position Overview
The Football Video Production Specialist operates under the guidance of the Assistant Athletics Director for Football Operations, while independently delivering video technology assistance and innovative content for the football coaching team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily video and technology services, providing expert technical support to the football staff.
- Utilize various cameras and equipment (HD Camcorders) to capture practices, games, and additional content.
- Conduct troubleshooting and basic maintenance on all equipment.
- Edit and organize practice and game footage using XOS Thunder efficiently.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, set up meeting spaces, and ensure media viewing capabilities for coaches during away games.
- Support the client network, including software and hardware enhancements related to video applications.
- Address and resolve issues on the field during practices and games.
Archiving and Organization
- Assist in the digital and analog archiving of all recorded practice and game video content, ensuring easy access for the department and coaching staff.
- Maintain a well-organized archive for efficient retrieval of content.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of production techniques and equipment.
- Proficient in using XOS Thunder and ThunderCloud for editing and creating cutups.
- General knowledge of production principles for instructional media.
- Strong organizational skills to manage production, budgets, and various projects independently.
- Leadership abilities to guide and develop students and staff for success.
- Capability to produce professional-quality visuals and assess production effectiveness in achieving objectives.
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects, and/or InDesign.
- Ability to learn new techniques and troubleshoot equipment and systems effectively.
- Capacity to produce high volumes of graphics while maintaining quality standards.
- Adaptability to feedback and changing priorities in design work.
- Strong research skills and knowledge of multimedia production resources and techniques.
- Ability to train students involved in filming, editing, and graphic creation.
- Physical capability to handle equipment weighing up to 60 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in still and motion picture photography, with a solid understanding of video production techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in football video production within an athletic context.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the XOS system.
Compensation
- Classification: Media Production Specialist - II
- Anticipated Hiring Salary: $5,250/month
- Salary Range: $3,949/month - $7,143/month
- A comprehensive benefits package typically valued at 30-35% of the base salary is offered.
