Physical Therapist Specialist

A Physical Therapist at JAG Physical Therapy is responsible for assessing patients, developing personalized treatment plans, and helping individuals achieve their rehabilitation goals. The role demands strong clinical skills, discretion, and effective communication while fostering a supportive environment for both patients and staff.
The Physical Therapist will excel at evaluating patients' strengths and weaknesses, creating innovative and effective treatment plans. They must maintain patient confidentiality and operate in a high-energy, positive-thinking environment, encouraging patients to reach their objectives. This position involves utilizing training and expertise to aid patients in healing, recovering, improving pain levels/tolerance, and maximizing functional independence.
About the Position
- This role requires a Bachelor's or Master's Degree, with a Doctorate degree preferred
- Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of practice
- Completed state-regulated CEU requirement in the appropriate state (NY, NJ)
- Valid CPR License
- Experience/knowledge with EMR software is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Strong clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success
- Basic computer skills
Job Responsibilities
- Collects and records patient care data that follows format and guidelines of the patient care service, regulatory agencies, and third-party payers, reflecting an understanding of reimbursement systems and their impact on patient care
- Records daily billing and follows department guidelines for productivity
- Prepares for evaluation in accordance with department policies/procedures and standards of practice, including obtaining patient history, exhibiting knowledge of patient diagnoses, and researching unfamiliar diagnoses
- Selects and administers tests and measures
- Synthesizes evaluation results to formulate diagnosis, goals, prognosis, and plan of care
- Establishes treatment plan based on evaluation results, goals, and best practice, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and patient support systems
- Identifies need for consultations and/or refers the patient to another healthcare professional or healthcare services
- Initiates and completes discharge plan
- Provides education/training to patients and/or patient support systems
- Functional Training-this includes but is not limited to ADLs/IADLs, therapeutic activities, rehabilitation equipment prescription and training, and community reintegration
- Responsible for treatment, plan of care, exercise prescription for patient caseload
- Provides interventions to patients that are safe, effective, and in compliance with JAG
- Musculoskeletal Interventions-this includes but is not limited to therapeutic exercises, joint mobilization, and modalities
- Provide data, note writing using Prompt EMR for all treatments provided
- Oversees support staff of PTA, ATC, PT aides
- Attends annual JAG Billing and Coding seminar
- Promotes JAG in the community through lectures/presentations
