As a vital member of the leadership team, the Chief Executive Officer acts as the public representative of the organization within the community. This role reports directly to the Board of Directors and plays a strategic part in enhancing the organization’s overall effectiveness, including growth and operational sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide staff, volunteers, and the organization to fulfill our mission and achieve meaningful community outcomes.
  • Enhance and cultivate donor relationships to secure impactful funding and partnerships.
  • Lead advocacy initiatives aimed at poverty reduction across local, state, and federal levels.
  • Oversee grant writing and staff grant activities to secure necessary funding.
  • Collaborate with local nonprofit leaders through the Nationwide Circle program.
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors on operational and strategic matters as they arise.
  • Identify and develop new funding opportunities to broaden services and support organizational growth.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders and political entities to influence programs, enhance services, and engage community resources.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation, analysis, and presentation of strategies, plans, budgets, financial reports, and trends.
  • Utilize social and economic data to identify trends and align reporting with diversity strategies.
  • Respond to inquiries from governing bodies, community organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Supervise hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluation of staff, providing mentorship and resolving employee relations issues.

Compensation: Annual Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in community service or nonprofit sector.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in people management.
  • Preferred experience in financial literacy programs, educational initiatives, poverty alleviation, housing, or emergency services.
  • Proven ability to secure new grants, donors, and revenue streams.
