Job Summary:

Highpoint Health – Riverview is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Services team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process within applicable scope and standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care for patients, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
  • Document patient care given and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patients and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Supervise nursing and support staff during assigned shifts, determining staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity, and work/patient flow.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain current certifications and competencies.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, or RN Diploma required.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Current TN or Multi-State RN licensure.
  • One year experience as RN and/or RN Charge Nurse in Emergency Services setting preferred.
