Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a K-12 setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, strong communication skills, and a passion for supporting students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in implementing therapy plans and activities tailored to the needs of students with ASD.
- Conduct individual and group sessions to support communication, language, and social skills development.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to the supervising SLP and adjusting activities as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom and home environments.
- Support classroom integration of communication tools and strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of sessions and student progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a related field.
- State Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in Texas.
- Experience working with children, preferably with ASD or other developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children with special needs.
