Job Summary

USPI, INC. is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Desert Ridge Outpatient Surgery Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality patient care and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room.
  • Assist the surgical team in maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Ensure the sterility of all supplies and instruments during setup of surgical procedures.
  • Assist in gathering necessary surgical supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in the sponge, needle, and instrument count pre-operatively and intra-operatively with the circulating nurse.
  • Assist in keeping physician preference cards accurate and up-to-date.
  • Retain all specimens to be sent to pathology, confirming the source and name of the specimen with the surgeon.
  • Transport all surgical equipment to the appropriate cleaning areas.
  • Assist in sterile supply with cleaning and reprocessing of instrument sets.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Scrub Technician Program.
  • Two years of experience as a Scrub Tech preferred.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
