Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Nurse Extern to join our team. As a Nurse Extern, you will perform a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN) in a complementary and assistive role.

Your tasks and responsibilities may include:

  • Obtaining and recording initial and ongoing patient information throughout the cycle of care.
  • Documenting observations, interactions, patient responses to performed activities, and any physical or behavioral changes at time of occurrence.
  • Assisting with non-medicated support care, including non-sterile dressing changes, skin protection, application of heat or ice, and venous compression devices.
  • Assisting with patient preparation for surgery or other procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current AHA (American Heart Association) BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required on all clinical nursing units.
  • 1+ years of nursing school completed preferred.
