Job Summary

The Medical Assistant will work closely with Southwest Center providers to deliver exceptional patient care and support our mission of promoting health equity and well-being for diverse communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support patient flow and clinical operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and prescription processing.
  • Collect and record patient information, including vital signs, medical histories, and reason for visit, in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures, manage specimens, and prepare them for laboratory processing.
  • Provide HIV and STI education services to individuals at high-risk for HIV infection.
  • Assist with procedures, prepare and administer medications and injections, and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assisting training program completion preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a congenial attitude towards diverse communities.
  • Cultural competency to serve LGBTQIA2S+ communities and individuals affected by HIV.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience working as a medical assistant.
  • eClinicalWorks EMR experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Work Environment

Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Office environment with exposure to computer screens for lengthy periods. Travel outside of the Phoenix region approximately 10% of the time.
