Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the maintenance and repair of our campus buildings.

About the Role

This role requires someone with expertise in HVAC, refrigeration, and building automation systems. As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, installing, testing, and maintaining building automation systems, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks and troubleshooting faulty systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and install building automation systems
  • Test and maintain building automation systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks
  • Troubleshoot and repair faulty systems
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, five years of work experience in a relevant trade or field, and a valid driver's license. You should also have a general understanding of building automation systems, be able to read ladder diagrams, blueprints, and schematics, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

You will work in a variety of environments, including offices, laboratories, and outside in all weather conditions. You may be required to wear personal protective equipment and work at heights.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
