Surgical Technologist II

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist II to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Surgical Technologist II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Specialize in a surgical specialty area and serve as a resource to others, assisting with complex surgical cases.
- Set up and operate various types of equipment used during procedures, ensuring the highest level of sterility and safety.
- Maintain a specialty cart or item, ensuring its completeness and availability, and checking the working condition of equipment.
- Precept Surgical Technologists I and anticipate their ability to handle situations, intervening when necessary.
- Provide a clean, safe, and efficient area conducive to optimal patient care, applying knowledge and experience with aseptic surgical technique.
- Perform all types of procedures and maintain basic knowledge of a variety of procedures, ensuring the environmental disinfection, safety, and efficiency of the operating room.
- Adhere to institutionally approved infection control policies and notify appropriate staff of equipment and supply problems.
- Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and transporting equipment and supplies.
- Serve as a Second Assistant when necessary and assist in the instrument room by cleaning and wrapping instruments.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
- No experience required, but familiarity with and adeptness with all types of procedures within their specialty is preferred.
