About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team at Bonita House, Inc. As a key member of our Mobile Crisis Response Team, you will play a vital role in providing emergency mental health services to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide crisis intervention services to individuals in crisis
  • Assess and evaluate individuals in crisis, determining the most effective course of action to ensure their safety and well-being
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, psychiatric prescribers, and hospital staff to provide comprehensive care
  • Utilize evidence-based practices, including the Roberts' Seven-Stage Crisis Intervention Model, to inform decision-making and provide effective interventions
  • Provide linkage to local community resources and support services to promote long-term recovery and well-being
Requirements
  • Registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences or Board of Psychology
  • Minimum two years of experience providing behavioral health services in a public health, community mental health, crisis services, or other setting serving people who are unhoused
  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Strong knowledge of crisis management principles, evidence-based practices, and community resources
