Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical devices, appliances, and more, following detailed instructions.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation to construct products according to specifications.
- Utilize various machines and hand tools to perform assigned tasks efficiently.
- Maintain logs, records, and reports related to production, machine upkeep, and product discrepancies.
- Oversee equipment and conveyor systems, performing basic repairs as necessary.
- Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; coordinate with materials handlers for replenishment.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on products to ensure compliance with company standards, addressing any issues and notifying supervisors.
- Travel to client locations for installations, training, repairs, warranty work, retrofits, safety enhancements, and equipment transfers as required (up to 50% travel may be necessary).
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, complemented by technical certification courses (Technical School preferred) and/or relevant experience.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience with hand and power tools, including drilling, tapping, grinding, and sawing.
- Proficient knowledge and skills in mechanical assembly.
- Familiarity with specific components of packaging equipment is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively read, write, and interpret documents in English.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to communicate professionally and collaborate with internal teams while maintaining relationships with external vendors.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills are essential, including proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and other relevant software.
Mathematical Skills:
- Capability to perform calculations in various units of measure and apply relevant formulas.
It is essential to apply common sense and understanding to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form, and to address problems involving variables in standardized situations. Maintain a clean and safe work environment while assisting with product quality, audits, and orders as necessary. The ability to lift and move items weighing up to 35-50 lbs is required.
