Senior Site Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Apple Services Engineering team in Seattle, Washington. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, latency, and overall health of our object store orchestration service.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop, run, and support SRE tools and applications to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Improve the lifecycle of services from inception through deployment, operations, and refinement to meet Apple's high standards.
  • Analyze logs and telemetry data by writing monitoring and automation code to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Participate in on-call and release manager rotations to ensure 24/7 service availability.
  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting during service level impacting events to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with dependent teams and customers through clear communications to ensure successful service delivery.

**Requirements:**

  • BS degree in computer science or equivalent field with 5+ years of experience.
  • At least 5 years in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused role.
  • Lower-level understanding of the Linux Operating System, standard networking protocols, and components.
  • Experience with containers and orchestration via Kubernetes in public/private clouds.
  • Hands-on experience managing large numbers of diverse systems with configuration management, infrastructure provisioning tools, or software delivery platforms.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
