Job Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join our team at Turner Construction. This role will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates for construction projects based on design documents, narratives, and specifications.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed estimates for construction projects, including mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Analyze existing site conditions and contract documents to determine required scope not already indicated.
  • Communicate with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to solicit accurate and current pricing of materials and equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, design consultants, trade partners, and other stakeholders to resolve issues related to the project preconstruction efforts.
  • Prepare estimates and proposals for various contract types, including lump sum, GMP, and Cost Plus.
  • Participate in estimate reviews with the design team and clients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited degree program in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical estimating, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Critical thinking skills for understanding and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with vendors, trade partners, and project teams.
