About the Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Construction Disbursement Specialist to lead our disbursement team at Western Alliance Bank.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will oversee the disbursement process on all construction loans, ensuring that the bank's risk is managed effectively. This includes reviewing loan budgets and new loan setups, evaluating draw packages, and understanding loan documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. This role involves managing the disbursement process on all construction loans, ensuring that the bank's risk is mitigated during the construction process.
  2. The selected candidate will serve as a liaison between mortgage originators, internal construction teams, WAB Management, and Credit staff prior to boarding loans to provide input on loan structure, how construction draws will be processed, and how the collateral will be monitored post-closing.
  3. This position requires preparing and organizing loan draw packages, ensuring quality, completeness, and accuracy, prior to disbursement.
  4. The Construction Disbursement Specialist will complete disbursement requests on a portfolio of customers, lending against real estate transactions.
  5. A key aspect of this position is monitoring and providing updates to Credit on a monthly basis of progress, reviewing for any delays or exceptions prior to maturity, and preemptively working with Credit on extension requests.
  6. The selected candidate will also notify WHL Sales Officers and management of liens, project budget issues, or other conditions that increase the bank's risk.
Requirements
  • High school graduation or GED
  • 5+ years of Mortgage industry experience or 2-4 years of experience in commercial real estate construction lending with an emphasis on the disbursement process
  • Ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Junior Underwriter, Senior Mortgage Processor, Home Builder Closer/Funder
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy
  • Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and services helpful
  • Strong communication skills, especially speaking and listening skills
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office
Estimated Salary

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
