Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering to manage and fulfill all electrical and programming requirements for the development of specialized machinery, predominantly serving the glass manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to write new code for equipment and modify existing programming as necessary. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting and providing customer support, both remotely and occasionally on-site. This position will also entail the commissioning of new machinery in various locations. We value experience, looking for candidates with approximately 4 to 5 years in OEM equipment manufacturing, but we are open to interviewing individuals who demonstrate self-management and project oversight capabilities. Key Responsibilities:

The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Specifying electrical components and designing industrial control systems, including control panel layouts.
  • Interpreting and wiring from electrical schematics.
  • Performing electrical wiring and troubleshooting, with the ability to construct and wire electrical panels.
  • Utilizing AutoCAD for creating and modifying electrical schematics.
  • Understanding PLC functionality, with a focus on B&R systems and Allen Bradley as a secondary option.
  • Programming PLCs using Structured Text.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Preferred experience of at least 4 years in practical equipment assembly, though not mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites across the US and Canada.
  • Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW programming is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio environments (Basic, C, C++) is a plus.
  • Moderate mechanical skills to adjust sensors and equipment during installation and commissioning.
  • Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines independently.
  • Experience with previous OEM equipment manufacturers is beneficial.
