Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to lead our dynamic Tax Team in Torrance. As a key member of our Consultative Search Group, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of client tax returns, providing guidance to tax staff, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead a team of tax professionals in preparing client tax returns, including corporation, partnership, individual, and trust tax returns.
    • Provide guidance and support to tax staff on tax-related matters, including tax planning and compliance.
    • Mentor staff to achieve internal and personal goals.
  • Tax Planning and Compliance
    • Review and sign tax returns and tax projections, including multi-state returns.
    • Correspond with government agencies on client tax notifications.
    • Ensure all tax returns, extensions, and filings are completed and filed by deadlines.
  • Client Relationships
    • Attend client meetings with Partners to build and manage client relationships.
    • Work with clients to identify and research tax issues applicable to their transactions.
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in CCH Axcess/ProSystem and Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Strong working knowledge of tax return workflow and ability to adapt.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related business field (3.0 GPA or better).
  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team of tax professionals.
  • 7+ years of related tax experience at a public accounting firm or family office.
  • Extensive experience with real estate and partnership tax compliance and consulting preferred.
