Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of tax accounting and compliance, including the preparation and review of tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
  • Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
  • Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's US federal income tax return and state tax returns.
  • Manage and facilitate IRS income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
  • Stay abreast of current developments in the tax area and provide tax research, advice, and planning services on a variety of tax matters.
  • Assist with quarterly and annual tax forecasting for financial planning.
  • Work with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely tax payments.
  • Review current and deferred tax provision calculations, and coordinate audits with external auditors.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or a similar environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with tax operations for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and pass-through entities.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes, regulations, and procedures.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax information in a clear and concise manner.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
