Job Title: Construction Inspector

RK&K's Construction Management and Engineering team is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to join our team in South Carolina.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to perform complex and routine inspections on construction projects. The successful candidate will have experience in interstate, roadway, and bridge construction, and will be responsible for ensuring that construction conforms to plans, specifications, and special provisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections of construction projects to evaluate compliance with plans, specifications, and special provisions
  • Review drawings and understand the design of the construction to be inspected
  • Document the results of inspections and communicate with supervisors
  • Conduct field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation and other contract administration documentation
  • Inspect work zones for proper traffic control setup, erosion control devices, and maintenance thereof, utility coordination, and right-of-way issue resolution
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of inspection experience required
  • Experience and certifications in SCDOT inspection and materials testing (earthwork, asphalt, concrete, pavement preservation, and Erosion & Sedimentation Control) is preferred
  • Experience with SCDOT's construction procedures is a plus
  • Valid driver's license and favorable driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
