Job Summary

Rotech Healthcare Inc. is seeking a dedicated Patient Service Technician to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering and setting up medical equipment at patient homes, educating patients and caregivers on the safe use and maintenance of the equipment, and resolving customer equipment problems under emergency conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and set up medical equipment at patient homes
  • Educate patients and caregivers on the safe use and maintenance of medical equipment
  • Resolve customer equipment problems under emergency conditions
  • Assist with implementation of quality improvement programs to meet company and JCAHO standards
  • Assume on-call responsibilities during non-business hours in accordance with company policy
  • Communicate to supervisor any vehicle problems or conditions that would compromise the vehicle's safe operation
  • Complete shipping papers when transporting hazardous materials in accordance with Rotech policy and procedures
  • Complete written patient visit reports following setup and follow-up visits per company policy
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company, as well as all applicable governmental regulations
  • Develop basic reimbursement knowledge and document all information
  • Develop technical knowledge of HME or respiratory products as appropriate
  • Maintain assigned company vehicle in a clean and safe working condition
  • Maintain delivery activity database
  • Maintain home oxygen systems in patients' homes per company policy
  • Manage territory to reach service goals and deliver equipment and oxygen as required in accordance with industry standards and applicable federal, state, and local governmental regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, required
  • Experience with medical equipment, preferred
  • One year of related work experience, preferred
  • Medical terminology, preferred
  • Skills and competencies: accurately perform simple mathematical calculations, effectively communicate in English, interpret a variety of communications, maintain confidentiality, discretion, and caution when handling sensitive information, multi-task, self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
  • Machines, equipment, and technical abilities: email transmission and communication, internet navigation and research, Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel), office equipment (fax machine, copier, printer, phone, and computer and/or tablet), mechanically inclined for the repair and troubleshooting of equipment, successfully demonstrates loading, unloading, and proper tie-down procedures as per company policy of transported cargo, understands use of all applicable home respiratory equipment and supplies
