Job Overview

Thornapple Excavating is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will assist in the preparation of detailed takeoffs, work with project managers to complete preconstruction paperwork, and attend pre and post bid meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed takeoffs for construction projects, including obtaining necessary permits and completing addendums and revisions.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure accurate and timely completion of takeoffs and preconstruction paperwork.
  • Attend pre and post bid meetings to confirm project details and ensure accurate cost estimates.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in takeoff/estimating in the excavating industry.
  • Familiarity with Business Center software or AutoCad.
  • Some Civil Engineering background preferred.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
