We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Los Alamos Medical Center. As a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse PRN, you will provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities- Perform plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments
- Document patient care given
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family
- Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
- Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
- Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Basic Life Support (BLS) current upon hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/ENPC must be obtained within six months from hire or transfer into position
- Current NM RN license or appropriate RN compact licensure
