Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at East Bay Community Action Program. As a primary care provider, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care to individuals of all ages at our Health Centers in Barrington and East Providence, RI.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient health through interviews, physical examinations, and medical histories.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, including injections and immunizations.
  • Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, wellness, and health maintenance.
  • Identify short-term and long-range patient care issues and recommend options and courses of action.
  • Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
  • Determine abnormal conditions through diagnostic tests and interpreting test results.
  • Document patient care services in patient and department records.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and licensed as a Physician Assistant by the RI Department of Health.
  • Certified in CPR/AED and First Aid at the Provider level.
  • Prior experience with drawing arterial, venous, or peripheral blood for analysis.
  • Prior experience with pulmonary function tests and electrocardiograms.
  • Prior experience with the care of superficial wounds and skin, debridement, and suturing.
  • Prior experience with the administration of subcutaneous local anesthesia.
  • Prior experience with casting and splinting of sprains and fractures and removal of casts.
