Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physician Assistant in Orthopedic Surgery at Ortho Rhode Island. As a key member of our surgical team, you will work closely with world-class surgeons and clinicians to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons in the operating room, performing first surgical assistant duties and participating in hospital admissions and consultations.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and treatments of orthopedic injuries and conditions, including ordering and interpreting lab studies and consulting with physicians as needed.
  • Provide therapeutic treatments, including oral medications, corticosteroid injections, and applications of casts, splints, and braces.
  • Perform minor office and emergency room procedures, including fracture closed reduction, laceration repair, and incision and drainage of abscesses.
  • Document patient encounters according to state and federal guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant institution.
  • Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Valid Rhode Island license.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and EMR software.

Work Environment:

This role requires working in an operating room and office setting, with frequent walking, standing, and sitting. The ideal candidate will have normal (corrected) vision and the ability to operate office equipment.
